We have a very dedicated team of volunteers at 8th Basildon Scout Group but we cannot deliver the adventurous activities for our young people without the help parents and other adults can provide.
You can help with the group at whatever level you feel you can contribute. Whether it be a non-uniformed tasks such as collecting weekly subs, organising admin, offering a lift to events or even just being another pair of eyes in the hall right through to going into uniform and becoming a leader.
Many Parent/Carers start as helpers with a Beaver Colony or Cub Pack when their son / daughter join. It can seem very daunting because you may feel that you don’t have the necessary skills to make a contribution and aren’t keen to take on the responsibility of becoming a leader and that’s fine. You can help out at any level, offering whatever time you can spare and you don’t have to go into uniform if you don’t want to. It is also a fantastic way of making new friends. Whatever contribution you make will be very welcome.
Please talk to any of the leaders if you feel you can give some time or complete the form below
